Description
P-44, 1978 Israel 5 sheqalim note; here is how Sheqel describes the design:"
The 5 Sheqalim banknote shows an effigy of Chaim Weizmann (1874-1952), chemist, Zionist leader, president of the World Zionist Organization and the first president of Israel from 1949 until his death in 1952. Weizmann is noted for major chemical inventions which helped the British war effort in World War I. These, and his close relations with British Foreign Secretary Lord Arthur Balfour, are considered crucial reasons for the issuance of the Balfour Declaration of 1917, in which "...His Majesty's Government views with favour the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people..." Weizmann founded the scientific research institute in Rehovot, later renamed the Weizmann Institute of Science. Both Chaim Weizmann and his wife Vera are buried on the grounds of the Weizmann Institute.
On the banknote's reverse, behind the portrait of Chaim Weizmann, appears the central library building of the Weizmann Institute.
The reverse depicts the Damascus Gate in Jerusalem.

Please note if eBay lists at the top of the page that I am away, I will only be able to ship coins once I return, I have to travel quite a bit for work. I always list the date of the return so that you can decide to buy and wait or buy a different coin. Thank you for your understanding.
Currently shipping in the US is .10, overseas .20 uninsured and not registered. If you win and would like your item to be sent either registered or insured, please contact me before paying. I combine on multiple wins with small charge for each additional item, usually it is 25 cents per additional note or coin (not mixed) for domestic shipping and 50 cents for international, reasonably capped for weight and shipping method, heavier items will be more.
I am a coin collector getting rid of some of the duplicates or items I bought over years and no longer need. You can find some of my coins by following the link in the profile.
Each item is individually scanned, I do not use stock pictures. Pricing is according to my estimate of the grade, Krause on-line catalog listed values, adjusted for my knowledge of the world coin market. If the auction is a Fixed Price, I will consider serious offers.
I prefer PayPal. For any alternative payment methods please contact me. Please pay or contact me within 3 days of winning the coin.
Returns are accepted if I send you the wrong item. Always bid on the item that is pictured, description sometimes gets copied from the other coins when I list. Grading or description of the coin condition is subjective and cannot be the reason for return.
