Icom IC-706MKIIG Ham Radio Transceiver Tech Special.
Radio was intended for the Japanese market and thus does not transmit on all of the US VHF and UHF allocated frequencies. It stops transmitting at 146.000 and does not transmit on all of the 70cm band.
Also transmit power is low on the HF bands as well. I see between 35 and 40 PEP watts of RF output on HF.
It receives well and does general coverage receive.
It comes with two optional filters installed. The FL-223 1.9 KHz SSB and the FL-101 250 hz CW filter as well as the stock 2.4 KHz SSB filter.
Will come with Icom mic, 12V DC power cable and the optional separation cable for remote mounting of the control head. (please note, additional brackets for mounting are not included).
I have examined the radio, and as far as I can tell the diode for performing the MARS mod had already been removed.
There may be adjustments to improve RF output on the HF band but I am not certain that will correct the low power issue. RF output is normal on the portion of the VHF/UHF bands it does transmit on.
Cosmetically the radio is in good shape.
